Allegheny County RCO Legislation Passes County Council

Allegheny County Council passed a responsible contractor ordinance (RCO) at the March 24th meeting by a 13-1 vote. The RCO is a product of months of work with prime sponsor Councilperson Bethany Hallam, and DC 57 is excited to clearly define a responsible bidder and protect county workers, taxpayers, and upstanding contractors from shady businesses and contracting firms that break the law and steal from workers. We appreciate Brother Allen Hollinger, a Local 6 apprentice, for speaking in favor of the bill and for Councilperson Hallam and all of the other nine sponsors for championing this legislation. We look forward to it soon becoming law in Allegheny County.
