Brothers and Sisters,

As you may have heard, we are officially leaving BeneSys, the company that handles our healthcare and benefits. After years of work far below the standards we expect for anyone providing services to our membership, the board of trustees decided to end our contract with BeneSys and take our healthcare funds administration in-house beginning June 1, 2026. BeneSys will continue to function as our funds administrator from now until June 1; they will handle all healthcare or annuity matters until then. You will be receiving a letter with more information from our new benefits administrator, the IUPAT of Western Pennsylvania Combined Funds. Future communications from them and your Union will come via all available communications channels in the coming weeks and months.

We are extremely excited about this change in administrator. The new funds office will have a dedicated space in our Carnegie Union hall (101 Ewing Rd), allowing direct, convenient access for all members. Union staff will be able to get questions answered and issues resolved far more efficiently than before.

This change has been a long time coming, and the board of trustees and Union staff have spent extensive time mapping out the path forward. The board did not make this decision lightly, and while we expect the switch to an in-house administrator to be as smooth as possible, there may be challenges along the way. We are committed to being proactive in communicating all the steps in this process.
